The Diversion/First-Time Offenders program is an intervention strategy that provides an alternative to incarceration for males up to age 25, committing a first-time offense. Low level crimes are Level 1 and Level 2 and are three months and six months, respectively. High level crimes are up to 12 months. The programs offers a mentor's impact, to assist in showing young men their true potential, through mentoring outside of the walls of the court room.
The Life and Soft Skills Fundamentals Student Handbook is used for this program. The curriculum is currently used in the Progressive Academy (PACE) in Montgomery, AL as well as Next Level Boys Academy in Fulton, GA. The curriculum has been designated as the curriculum of choice by the RESET program within the Alabama Youth Services Department.
